Global Initiative Manager

Department: Global Food Services
Location: San Carlos, CA

Job Purpose and Summary

This is a multi-faceted position to be exposed to various areas of the sales organization globally. To grow sales directly in certain regions while taking on strategic planning, business development and support roles in others in collaboration with other GFS teams.     

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Sales: Manage and grow business in Canada and the Middle East.
  • Sales Analysis: Create a system to effectively utilize and analyze internal sales/ cost data and market data to identify optimization opportunities.  
  • GFS Strategies: Work closely with Senior Director and global sales teams to plan and execute growth strategies. 
  • GFS Brand & Culture: Strategize and evangelize the GFS Brand and Culture globally.
  • Business Process, Others: Assist with Salesforce, other projects as needed.
  • Develop, support, review, and comply with all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety, Quality Management System, and WOM. Develop/maintain process procedures. Maintain proper levels of personnel for all responsible departments.

Positions Supervised:             


Education Level and Focus:

Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred.

Years and Types of Related Experience Required:

5 10 years of  relevant industry and business experience.


Language Skills:


            Fluent in English. Any foreign languages a plus.    


People Skills:

Must be charismatic and flexible in order to work with customers, internal teams, partners, etc., from different countries, cultures, across personalities. Must have the ability to recognize and understand customer/ internal team motivation and business needs in order to identify and solve problems effectively.  


Able to learn and practice business innovation, develop original ideas, and strive for continuous improvement.


Able to understand, analyze, and follow through on project needs and customer needs.


Administrative and Operations:

Follow company policies and directions. Able to plan work schedule and achieve results.


Physical Demands:

National and International business travels. Able to lift and transport supplies and products.

Computer operation
