Cycle Counter

Department: Inventory Control
Location: Osceola, AR

JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

Compute, classify, and record numerical data for inventory records of raw materials, packaging and finished goods. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain accurate inventory information of materials on hand. Cycle Counter will also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Count all inventory items over the course of a 12 month cycle based on direction of Cost Accountant
  •  Operate calculator, printer/scanner, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents for completions of cycle counts.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of ingredients, and investigate discrepancies; using these counts to adjust inventory after approval of the cycle count for individual items.      
  • Review supply driver pull sheets for accuracy of issues on bulk ingredients not in a tank as a part of cycle counting active inventory items.
  • May fill in as back up for other positions within the Inventory Control Group as needed.
  • Use handheld scanner to assist in counting and verification of inventory.
  • Initiate and assist in developing corrective actions for inventory discrepancies and missing inventory.
  • Participate in semiannual physical inventory as requested.

Cost Accountant, Senior Financial Manager, Operations Manager-Supply Chain , Supervisors, Purchasing and Peers.

Education Level and Focus:

Proof of high school diploma or equivalent; Willingness to continue education through approved courses or classes that will enhance personal and professional growth.

               

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Interpersonal and Communication:

 Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time. Communicating with others in a professional manner.

Technical and Analytical:

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology. A person in this position must have a working knowledge of mathematical applications and weights / measures.  This person must be also be able to work in Excel, Word and Macola.

Physical or Mental Demands:

Job requires some lifting, ability to develop follow set procedures for counting materials, ability to work in a sometimes stressful environment, and strong attention to detail. Must be certified to drive a forklift.

Work Environment:

                Warehouses and office.

Special Equipment Used:

Using computers and computer systems (software) to set up functions, enter data, track or process information.   

Attendance:

            Ability to be punctual and have regular attendance.  Ability to work overtime.  Must be present during first 7 working days following end of month to assist in financial statement preparation for prior month.  All appointments, vacation and other time off will not be approved during this time.
