Production Control Clerk

Department: Logistics
Location: Los Banos, CA

Supports inventory control and purchasing department. Assists production department by organizing production reports and data input.

Supports the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

  1. 1.      Daily separation, organization and filing of all production paperwork for all production lines. Verify and complete all missing production information on spreadsheets.  Place paperwork in order and return original documentation to supervisor for review. File original paperwork.


  1. 2.      Compare pallet logs and pallet id tags for accuracy and correlation. Create a report for all cases produced.  Reviews total cases reported into Macola Inventory System and Agility Inventory System.  Research when discrepancies arise and makes the necessary changes to ensure accuracy. Performs physical inventory of finished goods when needed.  Researches and corrects any mistakes discovered in the pallet logs.


  1. 3.      Total raw materials usage from batch sheet and document onto material pick list.  Compares actual material usage to batch sheet totals and assist with data input into Macola shop floor as needed.


  1. 4.      Research and track occurrence of pallet idís that cannot ship.  Create or correct pallet idís in Wisys for products with missing pallet idís or wrong quantities. 


  1. 5.      Member of the Kagome Inc. Recall Team. Compiles and reports daily the rework and reprocess paperwork and submits copies to appropriate personnel (QC/QA, Production Manager, and Accountant) for review. Completes rework/reprocessing paperwork to production manager. Verifies correct hold tag and pouch count is correct and also cases are correct.


  1. 6.      Works with Production Manager/Supervisors to schedule employees for production based on production needs.  Coordination of temporary employee scheduling from an outside vendor. Report Time Sheets to Temp labor agency and report total hours and lines worked to production control manager.


  1. 7.      In charge of receiving all transfer paperwork from production and insuring cases transferred and correct hold tags where used. Making sure QC and Production control manager obtain copies and files away all transferred material paperwork.


  1. 8.      Create a report to QC on daily basis of issued hold tag ingredients total pounds used. Products it went into and current inventory totals on hand. Counts need to balance if no balance verifies if anything was destroyed, donated ect.


  1. 9.      Verification of all sanitation paperwork in production. Reviews to see if all was completed and correct and maintains CIP binders daily.


  1. 10.  Inputs Batch, Fiber, Film Yields into Excel for production manager to review as well as paste usage by product into excel.


  1. 11.  Assist with printing in house labels as needed.


  1. 12.  Performs other tasks and duties as required by the lead or manager.

External Contacts:

            Production, Shipping, QC/QA, and other departments as required by manager.


Education Level and Focus:

            High School diploma. Some college preferred.


Years and Type of Related Experience Required:

            1 year clerical experience in manufacturing environment preferred.




Interpersonal and Communication:

            Good verbal and written communication skills in formal and informal sittings. Individual should be able to conduct him/herself professionally, have a high level of integrity and be able to demonstrate a sense of urgency. Perform duties with minimal supervision.

Technical and Analytical:

Efficient in the use of Excel and Word, Maintenance Pro, PC literate, Macola Information System, office equipment, good filing and organizational skills. Good basic math skills.


Administrative and Operations:

Excellent time management skills, ability to set priorities and work under pressure, ability to handle multiple tasks.


Physical Demands:

            Sitting for long periods, standing, walking, phone work, data entry.


Work Environment:

            Noisy, congested office environment with frequent interruptions.


Special Equipment Used:

Computer and all related software, printers, copiers, Fax machine, telephone, calculators, all other office related equipment.
