Quality Assurance Lab Technician

Department: Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Location: Osceola, AR

JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for the following:

  • Manage, organize, and review all pertinent documentation submitted by Suppliers based on the Supplier Approval Program. This includes, but is not limited to, COA, LOG, allergen declaration, Certificate of Insurance, Certificate of Origin, Kosher, Halal, 3rdparty inspection and product specification.
  • Gathers all pertinent documents on ingredients during 3rdparty audits (such as Organic, Non GMO, SQF, YUM).
  • Conduct analytical test (PV, sensory, FFA) on all in house oil supply to ensure the quality has not been compromised.
  • Provide backup support for QC Technician
  • Work in Lesion with CI&I on conducting analytical/ organoleptic test on expiring products.
  • Prepare and maintain Customer COA, Export documents, NAFTA Documents
  • Create and maintain Supplier Performance Log
  • Perform other duties as assigned per Management

6.                            5%            Gathering pertinent documents for 3rdparty audits

7.                           5%            Perform other duties as assigned per Management

POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

Internal Contacts:

            Quality Director, Manager, Supervisor and personnel, Production personnel

Education Level and Focus:

            Minimum of a high school diploma with some science and/or mathematics

 

Years and Type of Related Experience Required:

            Minimum 1 year food processing quality control lab experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

Interpersonal and Communication:

            Requires good verbal and written communication skills.

 

Technical and Analytical:

            Requires good organizational skills and the ability to perform required tests and procedures utilizing specialized equipment in a variety of analytical and microbiological equipment requires computer knowledge in order to input data and verification accuracy using MS Excel.

 

Administrative and Operations:

            Must be reliable and punctual and exercise good safety habits

 

 

Physical Demands:

            Requires walking, standing, sitting for extended lengths of time, the ability to handle occasionally lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, climbing up and down stairs

Work Environment

            Exposed to some chemical fumes, flammable liquids, extreme hot/cold and humid temperature, high noise levels, wet floors

Special Equipment Used

            Usage of specialized laboratory equipment which includes but is not limited to Colorimeter, pH meters, Refractometers, autoclave, CEM oven, Titrator, and Electronic pipette and other equipment as required.
